“Unique Solutions Legal” is a trading name of CLP Group Limited.

CLP Group Limited is responsible for the advice provided under its trading names and, where applicable, for maintaining systems and controls to ensure compliance with the SRA rules and including the maintenance of adequate professional indemnity insurance.

Our firm is not is not a partnership in the legal sense, CLP Group Limited is a limited liability company as set out above. When used, the term “Partner” does not denote a legal partnership with our advisers and those carrying the title “Partner” are not owners of the firm.

EXCEPTIONAL ADVICE FROM EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE

Those responsible for the provision and supervision of advice to our clients are called “Partners”. We appreciate that this term may cause confusion since we do not use it in the traditional sense or in a way that adopts a legal definition of “partner”. So, when we use the title “Partner” it is used as a marketing term to describe the spirit of the relationship between our firm and its client-facing advisers who are all consultants with the firm.

Those carrying the title “Partner” may be solicitors, barristers, Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or consultants who have met the entry requirements of their relevant professional body and who are authorised by us to advise our clients and supervise work we do for them.

All of our Partners have been carefully selected to ensure they have the required skills and expertise. All operate in accordance with stringent operating procedures and use the latest technology and software to assist them in delivering exceptional results to clients.

INDEMNITY INSURANCE

Our clients benefit from CLP Group Limited’s professional indemnity insurance policy arranged with SRA participating insurers. Full details of our Professional Indemnity Insurance are available on request from our registered office.

DATA PROTECTION

We may receive personal data (such as contact details) about you, your officers and employees. We will process such data in accordance with the terms of appropriate data protection legislation and take appropriate measures against unauthorized or unlawful processing.

We will have the right to use public data sources and electronic verification in order to confirm the identity of you and your officers in order to comply with our duties and anti-money laundering legislation.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

CLP Group Limited is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. However, our firm is included on the register maintained by the Financial Conduct Authority so that we can carry on insurance mediation activity – which broadly means advising on, selling and the administration of insurance contracts. The register can be accessed via the Financial Conduct Authority website at http://www.fca.org.uk/register. The Law Society is our designated professional body for the purposes of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

TAX ADVICE

Our services will not include advice concerning the tax implications of any course of action or transaction, unless expressly instructed by you and agreed by us.

ADVICE ON ENGLISH LAW

Our Partners are qualified to advise on matters of English law and EU law applicable to the UK only. If you request advice on matters covered by the law of another jurisdiction then we can, at your option: (i) obtain advice on your behalf and at your expense from legal advisers qualified in the relevant jurisdiction; (ii) introduce you to foreign legal advisers that you can instruct directly; or (iii) provide non-definitive advice on the basis that you accept that we cannot give definitive advice on matters covered by the law of another jurisdiction.
